Selfie Spots and Meet and Greet at Disneyland Paris

If meeting characters is your thing, you’ll be thrilled to know that you can find more characters than ever waiting to greet us, all safely, at Disneyland Paris. From good morning greets to castle waves, from Selfie Spots to Distant Meets, Disneyland Paris is offering guests such a wide range of meet and greet opportunities, you’ll get that character count higher in no time. In this article, you’ll find all the possible meets as well as some tips on how they work.

Safety is the number one priority for guests and Cast Members alike, so there are some easy-to-follow rules in place so that guests can have great and safe meet and greet with their favorite characters. The most important rule is, of course, to always wear your mask. The second rule is to keep your distance from other guests and Cast Members. Keep in mind that Cast Members aren’t allowed to take pictures for you right now, but some spots have PhotoPass photographers that can capture those fun interactions.

INTERACTION OPPORTUNITIES

Since there are so many different ways in which you can interact with your favorite pals, let’s  break them down.

SELFIE SPOTS AND DISTANT MEETS

“Selfie Spots” are the most common type of meet and greet throughout the two parks. At these locations, you don’t need to just take a selfie, you can also take some nice pictures with the characters by asking someone else in your party to take them for you. In most “Selfie Spots” you’ll be asked to stand on a green circle to ensure you are safely distanced from the characters, so keep an eye out for that. If you do decide to take some fun selfies, keep your mask on at all times and make sure to snap a few pics so you get a good shot. Don’t forget to talk to the characters because they’re always thrilled to meet new friends, plus it will make your interactions better.

Some characters like Snow White, Princess Aurora, and Captain Jack Sparrow like to have a nice view, so their meet and greet is from a bit further away. But you can still say hi to them and take selfies or pictures. With characters like Sully, Darth Vader, and Chewie, you’ll be able to stand safely distant on the side and even have a PhotoPass photographer there to capture those moments.

ENTERTAINMENT

Another fun way of seeing characters is during the mini shows and mini carriage parades DLP offers. At park opening and closing, you can see Mickey, Minnie, and friends ready to Welcome Back every guest. During the afternoon you might spot royalty riding around the kingdom in a carriage. At Walt Disney Studios you can see Mr. and Mrs. Incredible riding around their scooters and Buzz Lightyear popping in to say hi at the stage show. No matter where you are, make sure to keep your distance from other guests while you take your pictures and enjoy the characters.

CHARACTERS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

Disneyland Paris likes to keep us on our toes and full of anticipation, so some of the meets are not fixed and may vary from day-to-day. In any case, here’s a general list of the characters you can find at Disneyland Paris Park and Walt Disney Studios.

DISNEYLAND PARK

MAIN STREET

As soon as you set foot in Town Square, get ready for an amazing “Welcome Back” from Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. They will be dancing atop the Railroad terrace at park opening and they usually leave for a quick two-minute break every half an hour. At the same spot, you’ll find Mickey, Minnie, and four other surprise characters waving goodnight to all the guests at park closing.

Some other friends you can find for a meet and greet at Selfie Spots in Town Square are: the number one duck, Donald, near the Liberty Arcade entrance, his beloved Daisy right across from him in front of the gazebo, and the cheeky Chip and Dale by the entrance to Discovery Arcade. (Note:  the Chipmunks are not a fixed meet).

If you head down Main Street towards Central Plaza you can find our favorite hunny bear Pooh and his friend Eeyore by Casey’s Corner, along with some variable characters such as Goofy and Max, or Tigger and Piglet by Plaza Gardens on Selfie Spots. You might also get lucky and spot a character on a bicycle or even a princess in a carriage in the afternoon on Main Street.

FANTASYLAND

Fantasyland is where you’ll find the biggest amount of characters to meet and greet. After you eat a delicious waffle at the Old Mill, make sure to hop on over to say hi to Tigger at his Selfie Spot. If you’d like to have some tea, pay a visit to the Tweedles or the Queen of Hearts and her trustworthy White Rabbit by the Tea Cups (they swap every half hour). And if you feel like meeting a true maestro, go meet Geppetto or his son Pinocchio by the It’s a Small World gate. They swap places every half hour at their Selfie Spot.

The most magical meets are always with our beloved princesses and at Disneyland Paris you can meet two. Snow White will be waiting for you at her Selfie Spot by her wishing well, often accompanied by her handsome Prince (Cinderella and Prince Charming have been spotted there too), while Aurora and Prince Phillip will be watching over their kingdom and waving hello from the outer castle terrace (or inner terrace in case of bad weather) at a Distant Meet.

“Meet Mickey” can be unpredictable  because Mickey’s friends change daily. You can expect to meet him along with two of his pals. Mickey is so popular his friends come in two sets that swap every half hour. Beware that the light at Meet Mickey is not very camera-friendly, so I recommend to use your phone for selfies or stand a bit to the side for regular pictures since there’s no PhotoPass service available there.

DISCOVERYLAND
Meet and greet with Chewbacca at Disneyland Park

Moving towards Discoveryland you will be over the moon of Endor to find Chewbacca or Darth Vader at Starport. This meet and greet is out of this galaxy because there’s a PhotoPass photographer there, and instead of standing in front of the characters, you can stand to the side of them (keeping a safe distance) which makes for a better picture. If your party is larger than four, you can all step in together (but you will be asked to split up for the pictures because of space restraints).

ADVENTURELAND

If you’re looking for a land full of adventure then steer to the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean where you can meet Captain Hook and Smee or Captain Jack Sparrow in the late afternoon. They like to keep a higher ground and will interact with you from the balcony (they swap every 30 minutes). If you feel like exploring around then you will be happy to find Minnie Mouse near Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost. Who knows, she might even be wearing her special jungle outfit!

WALT DISNEY STUDIOS

Get ready for a day full of marvelous, magical, and incredible characters during your visit to Walt Disney Studios because while this park is  smaller it’s not lacking in meets. If you start or end your day at Studios, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy will be ready to sing “Welcome Back” to you at Studio 1, just like at Disneyland Park.

INCREDIBLE LAUGHS
Sully meet and greet at Walt Disney Studios

If you want to learn how to scream (or laugh) properly, head to the Scare Floor and help Sully fill those canisters. You’ll be able to stand to his side and a PhotoPass photographer will be there to capture that monstrous moment. Then, head to Toon Studio where you’ll be able to meet Goofy and Minnie at their respective Selfie Spots. But if you’re looking for an incredible experience, be on the lookout for Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible who like to come out every hour or so to monitor the situation at Production Courtyard. If you stand near the stage you might be able to get a quick picture with them in the background.

ASSEMBLE

Do you want to feel like a real superhero? Well, you can assemble with the likes of Captain America, Captain Marvel, Loki and Thor, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Dr. Strange, and Black Panther at Studio Theater. You can expect to meet four characters by taking a picture with two first and then moving along to the next two. Their sets swap with four different superheroes every 30 minutes. There’s a PhotoPass service available so that your whole party can take a picture together.

BECOME AN APPRENTICE OR TOY AROUND

Animagique Theater is the perfect place to learn some tricks with Magician Mickey. He is usually accompanied by either Belle or Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother (they swap every half hour). There’s no PhotoPass service available at this meet so get your phones and cameras ready to capture the magic.

Production Courtyard is the place to be if you want to toy around. Jessie will be ready to show you how to be a cowgirl  at her Selfie Spot by the stage, while Woody or Bo Peep will tell you about their carousel adventures next to Stitch Live (swapping every 30 minutes). Buzz will even pop by at the stage to greet guests before he heads to infinity… and beyond! (this happens several times a day)

ARENDELLE

If you want to build a snowman, you’ll be happy to find Olaf inside Art of Disney Animation. In there you’ll also be able to meet Kristoff and Sven in one room and Anna and Elsa in the next. You’ll need to book a spot for your party through the app Lineberty an hour before. Their current meet times are 11:00, 12:00, 3:00, and 4:00. The light in there is difficult to shoot and there’s no PhotoPass so I recommend you use your phone. (Note that Anna, Elsa and Kristoff are usually on the stage unless you’re the very first family in the morning or afternoon meet, but that spot is normally reserved for green pass families).
